What a winter!! So wet that my mum had to put drains and hardcore and top it with woodchip so me and my real mum and auntie Etti can have somewhere to go out and roll everyday and have a "yeeha". I have been to two Welsh rides since my last update, they were both over the Black Mountains, each ride 20 miles of hard slog, I did enjoy them, probably more than my mum as it was thick fog and very wet! Auntie Etti did the last ride of the season but she trotted up lame at the end and told me she had a nasty pain in her back. My mum is trying very hard with the vet to try and fix her. She recently had some treatment to her back and came home with her back shaved, I did laugh, she was not pleased and told me off, abit!! I have moved in permanently to my real mums stable as now she has retired she lives out all the time. She looks very funny this winter as she has a "goatie" beard 6 ins long! And a shaggy coat to match. Auntie Etti says it keeps her warm so she does not have to wear coats like we do, my mum has just clipped all my hair off and has put on my special midge rug in preparation for the warmer weather, Auntie Etti get`s her own back and laughs at me! Last Sunday I went to the first Endurance pleasure ride of 2008, I was very good and loaded first time into the trailer, we had to park on a boggy forest track, mum tied me up behind the trailer, it as very exciting and I couldn`t keep still, my mum was trying to tack me up in all the slippery mud, what fun! It was a cold sunny day and with my new clip I was feeling particulary "yeeha", we set off to do the first loop, my mum was being really strict and would not let me chase the other horses, within 1 hour we were back at the start and ready to do the second loop, I settled down to do this as there were not so many horses to chase, we did me a scarey trail bike rider who was checking the route markers, he stopped and waited for us to pass, mum gave me a big pat for being so well behaved. The second loop went very quick too and before I could say `give me another haynet`we were crossing the finish. I still felt full of running, but was happy to load back into the trailer and eat my haynet while my mum recovered with a strong cup of coffee( poor mum has a chest infection and I think I wore her out!) I`m not sure where we are going next, I think it might be another forest ride, my favourite, look forward to it!!

Meet Charlotte, a 6-year old, long-haired Tabby cat that we have got from a Cat Rescue foster home.
We have nicknamed her Tiger, bacause of the green eyes, and because her ears are normally flat back on her head!
She has already had a stand-off staring match with the local black-and-white cat from next-door-but one. 1 - 0 to us !
Now she is just waiting for her first chance to escape out through the door into the garden when we are not quick enough.
More later, as she settles in more.
